My last track by Magali
Hey there, I'm happy to be sharing my last track with you because believe me, it is something I have thought about in the past.
I have always wanted a 'happy' funeral, you know. Of course this means that I live a full life & accomplished the things I set out to do & touched some lives in the process.
I know crying at a funeral is always there, but I would love if my funeral was a celebration of my life rather than a mourning of my passing. I'm not talking full-blown party but not sad or depressing either.
That being said we come to my last track.
My last track has to have some pertinence to 'death'. Also something that sounds happy sad or bittersweet.
And I would choose Ashes to Ashes - David Bowie
The title of course pertains to death. The song is melancholy yet mildly upbeat as well.
It has lyrics such as "I'm happy, hope you're happy too..."
What more could I ask for?

  1. Magali - got the exact spirit of my thinking behind the blog-idea ! The Bowie track is a fantastic choice - he was/is a class-act and wrote so many songs that will be played for ever. Thanls, paul.

Now, this is the whole point of this blog - unlock that well-hidden secret, your 'MyLastTrack', and name it Here ! But more than that - pen a few lines about what the track means to you, maybe when and where it hit you as 'the' track in your life - and don't even think about some concept of THE cool music. No negativity is welcome here - really not interested in anyone jumping on other peoples' serious choices. One person's heart & soul is their's alone, and the music that moves them is absolutely authentic for them. Obviously, i love The Pirates, but i have been floored by so many performers that are completely different to them and to each other - how about Mahalia Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Eva Cassidy to name just three. Fear no-one, conform to no 'taste' - tell the world about your absolute number one ( last ) track - pls ! Thanks, paul.
